Faith (Underfell!Sans x Reader)

 You closed your eyes as you fell down the seemingly endless hole. You prayed and hoped that you would survive the fall, you had faith you would survive... You were proven correct once you felt your body land on something  rather soft. After a few seconds of landing you heard someone gasp which caused you open your eyes only to notice that what saved your fall were golden Flowers known as buttercups.

      As you looked around at the simple but beautiful flowers you noticed one that stood out, it was a flower with a face 'How is that even possible?' You thought to yourself as you stared at it for a few moments before the flower spoke " W-what are you doing here?! " The flower asked frantically and you sat up calmly, still surprised that they're was a talking flower. You ignored his question and finally spoke " What's your name? " You questioned the flower and it sigh " Flowey, Flowey the Flower, but that's not the point! You need to leave now before sh- " Before Flowey could finished his sentence the both of you heard footsteps that were getting closer.
      Flowey gasped dramatically once again " Q-quick! Hide! " He warned you and you glanced around the room but saw no place to hide. Everything was happening so fast, first your falling down an endless hole and then you meet a talking flower and now your trying to hide from a monster. You sigh and turned around, only to notice a tall goat lady. She wore a black and red robe that was teared at the bottom, the dress had a unique design on it, you also noticed that she wasn't wearing any shoes... You finally glanced up at her face and it horrified you, she hade beautiful white fur, but her gentle smile didn't seem so... gentle, more like a crazed grin. Her eyes are what creeped you out the most, she had red pupils and a yellow sclera. Surely she wasn't as bad as she seemed...

      " Oh my, hello child. Was this flower bothering you? " She questioned in an overly sweet tone as she glared at Flowey. Flowey quickly disappeared underground out of pure fear. You glanced up at the lady and stood up, dusting yourself off. She smiled at you again, staring at you with a seemingly hungry gaze " My name is Toriel, caretaker of the ruins " She introduced herself, when she said caretaker it sounded rather, well, off. You sigh to yourself, she wasn't that bad... If she were bad she would have killed you instantly... right?

      " What may your name be my child? " She questioned you as she waited patiently for you to answer " My name is Y/n " You answered with a gentle smile, even if it was slightly forced she didn't seem to notice. She hummed " Follow my child, I will lead you through the ruins " She told you with a calm tone and started walking away. You stumbled but followed behind her quickly. The first puzzle room you walked into had five buttons and she did the puzzle without saying a word, as if she just wanted to be over with this quickly. You soon passed a few more puzzles until she left you alone at the end of a room, telling you to not wander off. Before she left she

      You sigh to yourself, she honestly didn't seem that bad... You went to sit down but before you could have a moment to relax Flowey suddenly appeared from underground once again, looking at you with a worried gaze " You c-can't rest now! We need to get out of here quickly! " Flowey said with a frantic tone in his voice, you sigh and knelled down to Flowey with a smile gracing your face " Flowey, she isn't that bad... " You stated to the flower but Flowey shook his head. The flower spoke up again " N-no! She kills the humans that fall down here! " Flowey said and your smile dropped, soon replaced with a face of horror.

      You shook your head, trying to keep your head up " I'm sure she can change if she tries, I know it " You said and smiled down at Flowey and the yellow flower sigh, knowing he won't be able to change your mind " If you say so... " He muttered and looked up at you " Hey ummm... Can I stay with you? " He questioned and you nodded " Of course Flowey " You said with a smile and held your arm out, it will be easier to talk to him if his always by your side instead of him appearing and disappearing under the ground. The flower gripped onto your arm with it's roots and went up on your shoulder and Flowey got comfortable. The flower glanced at you " I-i never got your name... " He suddenly said out of the blue. You smiled at him " My names Y/n " You spoke with a small chuckle and started walking through the ruins.


      After awhile of finishing a few puzzles you felt a buzz in the back pocket of your jeans and that when you remembered about the phone that Toriel gave you. You reached for the phone in your back pocket and took it out only to notice that it was Toriel calling you. Well, who else would call you? You knew no one else except for Toriel and Flowey...

      You accepted the call and put the phone to your ear, Toriel instantly spoke up before you could even greet her " Hello my child, I know this is a sudden call but I am preparing something for you. What do you prefer out of these two? Dust or Blood? " The goat asked and Flowey's face turned into pure disgust as well as yours... You would have said Dust but something inside of you told you that it wasn't what you thought it was so you just let her decide " U-umm... Which ever is fine " You stumbled on your words as you spoke through the phone. Toriel sigh on the other side " As you wish my child " She spoke with a slightly annoyed tone " Thanks for calling me " You said through the phone without much thought and they're was silence on the other side before she hung up, that was... strange. Flowey looked at you with a weird look " What? " You asked the flower as you continued walking through the ruins, looking for any traps.

      You finally arrived at what seemed to be three rocks. Flowey sigh and shook his head " Nothing... " He muttered under his breath and you read a note on the wall and to put it shortly it told you to push the rocks. You did as you were told to for the first two and when you went to push the third one it suddenly spoke, making you jump. The rock seemed to... growl?
 

      " What do you think your doing?! You can't just push me like that! " The rock said with a very aggressive tone. You bite your lip and kneeled down to it " I'm sorry Mr, Rock. I didn't know you were a monster... " You apologized, feeling bad for being to ruthless, now you'll make sure to ask items if you can move them... Wait that just sounds weird.  The rock was silent for a moment " Why are you apologizing? " It questioned, trying to keep an aggressive tone. You raised an eyebrow " Because I made you mad... " You answered and the rock stood silent " Could you please move over to that button for me? If that's not to much to ask? " You asked as you fiddled with your fingers. The rock growled again " Whatever " The rock said and quickly pressed on the button and your face lite up " Thank you Mr, Rock! " You said and walked through before the rock could remove himself.

      Flowey looked at you with an amazed gaze and you could't help but chuckle at the look he gave you " You see! That wasn't so bad " You told Flowey, already knowing what he was thinking. After a few minutes of walking in silence you could't help but wonder why people seemed so angry... You shook your head, that wasn't important at the moment, you could just ask Flowey later. You continued walking and soon you arrived infront of a house and you noticed Toriel walking towards you with a phone to her ear. Right then your phone buzzed and she looked up at you. You chuckled nervously " Sorry? " You said with a questioning tone and Toriel stared at you for a moment " I'm sorry that took so long my child... Please follow me inside " She said and smiled at you except it seemed more menacing and crazy. But it also seemed less forced... She walked inside the house and you glanced at Flowey nervously and Flowey trembled like a leaf on your shoulder. You sigh to yourself and followed Toriel inside.

      Once you walked inside the first thing you notice is that most of the items in the house were red and black. Those seemed like a very popular color choices down here. You noticed that Flowey was still trembling so you decided to sooth his nerves " Calm down Flowey everything is gonna be okay " You spoke with a reassuring tone to your voice. Flowey looked up at you and he felt more calm knowing that you were certain about this but you could't help but feel anxious anyways.

      You walked into, what you assumed, was the living room. You stopped in your tracks at took the time to look around the room. You noticed Toriel siting on a rather large arm-chair, well, for you it was large but for her it was the perfect size. You turned your gaze to the fire place that was right next to the arm chair, that's why this room was so warm and comfy...You then looked that next to the fire place was a bookshelf filled with joke books and some rather vulgar and violent titles... But once stood out and it was a book about snails but it was in the far bottom corner of the book shelf.

      You walked over to Toriel and she looked up from her book " Oh? Are you wondering what i'm reading? " She asked you and you nodded, silently hoping it wasn't anything violent or crazy... Toriel's eye twitched but you just smiled at her patiently " Why it's a joke book! This one is one of my favorites, ' Why was everyone ignoring the ghost '? " She asked and looked up at you and Flowey frowned. You shrugged at her question " I don't know, why? " You asked her and she spoke up once again " Because the ghost was dead! " Toriel said and started laughing and your face twisted into slight horror. Flowey seemed disappointed it you " You should have expected that... " Flowey whispered in you ear and you sigh " I know... " You muttered back to him, making sure that Toriel could't hear your conversation.

     Toriel stood up from her seat and closed her book and placed it on the arm rest that she was sitting on moments ago. Her eye twitched again and she chuckled, her chuckles sounding just as crazed as her looks " Let me lead you to your room child " She said and took your wrist rather violently in her paws as she lead you to your room and Flowey's face twisted with a horrified look as he tried to hide somewhere but then realized they're was nowhere to hide when he was on your shoulder. 

      After a small walk you arrived at the last door that was in the hall and she opened the door and lead you inside. She let go of your wrist that now had a red mark from were she held you " Please make yourself feel at home, I'll come and check up on you later " She said and quickly left and closed the door. Flowey quickly spoke up " W-we need to get out o-of here! " He said frantically and you raised an eyebrow " Why? I know her jokes are violent and that she looks scary but she's been nice " You said and Flowey shook his head " She's gonna bake you into a pie! She's just playing an act to gain your trust! " Flowey said but you weren't fully convinced but you silently agreed that you should't take the risk.

      " Okay Flowey, I trust you... " You said and turned around and walked back towards the door and you turned the handle but when you went to push it budged, you felt the color drain from your face " It's locked... " You said, your voice laced with slight panic and Flowey straightened his posture " I think I can unlock it... " He said and removed one of his vines from your shoulder and reached for the lock and after a few minutes of him picking at the lock you guys heard a click you quickly opened the door and Flowey placed his vine back on your shoulder " Good job Flowey " You said with a gentle smile and made a run.

      " Where do I go?! " You asked Flowey as you ran and his face perked up " Down the stairs, you just need to go through a large door and your out of the ruins " Flowey said, a nervous sweat going down his... face? You quickly did as told and ran down the stairs but as you ran towards the door you suddenly realized the goat lady standing infront of it, looking at you want an angry but hungry gaze. 

      " My child, you are not supposed to be down here... " She said with an angered and suddenly you heard two beeps and you felt something escape your chest and all of a sudden a Silver Heart floated infront of you " That's your soul, the accumulation of your being " Flowey told you, not really caring of Toriel heard. You remember your mother telling you about souls when she told you about the monsters locked underground but it was rather blurry in your mind. Toriel sigh " I guess I will have to end your path here " Toriel said and suddenly flames floated behind her and yours eyes widened as flames were thrown at you. You were never really the best at dodging so you ended up getting hit.

      After the attack it was your turn, Flowey explained your options, after a quick explanation of the Fight, Items, Act and Mercy options you quickly chose Act and choose to persuade her " Toriel you don't have to do this! You can be nice if you want to! I know you can change if you try! " You said and Toriel seemed taken back for a moment before she started attacking you again, but you didn't loose hope.

      You started doing this over and over again and after awhile of doing this process Toriel fell to her knee's, tears in her eyes. She choked out a sob " B-but I can't take back what i did to some of those children... " She sobbed and you walked over to her and hugged her " You might not be able to take it back, but I have FAITH in you... I know you can change if you just try " You told her, she wrapped her arms around you and gave you a tight squeeze. After a few minutes she pulled away " Thank you child, but i must warn you that they're are very mean and powerful people on the other side of this door... And please, once you leave. Do not come back " She said and you nodded and smiled at her. You nodded and she gave you a cookie " Don't worry, it's butterscotch and Cinnamon " She told you and you nodded and put it away but waving her goodbye. You walked through the door of the ruins, awaiting a new adventure...

      Flowey looked at your with a surprised look and he smiled " Good Job Y/n... But she was right, you still need to be careful " Flowey warned you and you nodded at him " Yeah... But everyone can be nice if they just try " You answered to him and Flowey sigh as the door closed with a loud noise. Leaving the both of you alone in the cold woods...
